In August 2020, CEMDI hosted its first presentation about the new initiative and the opportunities related to the first round of INVEST South/West RFPs. Chicago Department of Planning and Development Commissioner Maurice Cox made a special appearance to discuss INVEST South/West RFP opportunities across the City of Chicago.

In February 2021, CEMDI hosted a discussion with minority developers and Commissioner Cox about the INVEST South/West RFPs. The participants had a chance to hear about lessons learned from the first round as well as upcoming opportunities in subsequent rounds of RFPs.
